There is no best. Install VirtualBox and you can run them all. I don't see why this is even worth discussing anymore. Some people wear sneakers, other people wear boots, other people wear ballet shoes. I run: - Windows 7 64 (host) - Windows XP - Linux Mint - Ubuntu - Mac OS X Mountain Lion Plus various other emulators for Commodore and Atari stuff. If you want to play with an OS, you CAN. You don't have to pick just one.
I'm using Windows 8 right now and I absolutely love it. Uses LESS resources than Windows 7 and is incredibly faster,.
Macintosh is the best for graphics and photoshop, etc. Linux is the best for developers and techie, geekie people. and windows is the best for everyone else and for business. Personally, I prefer Macintosh.
I will vote for Windows. I have been using windows since the very first day of my computer use. By the passage of time Windows released better and handy versions. I am now using windows 7 and thinking of switching to win 8.
Well I'm into Windows and it's the first OS I'd used, and no time to study how to use Linux, and can't afford to get Macintosh
It really depends on how you use your computer. I was a Windows fan before. But because I am learning some programing language, I found that Linux is pretty good. The reason why I said that is because I like to do things by just type in some commands in the terminal. Other than that, using Linux to write script or program is quite convenient too. Its really depend on how you like it.
I'm not sure that I agree with all the posts about windows being better because it is easier to use. I do however agree that it is more adopted. I think the main reason people are turned off of Linux is because of the freedom you have to do what you want with it. So some reasons I pick Linux over windows: 1) Free (for real free) 2) Supported and developed by people like me who use computers like I do 3) Small size 4) Customizable 5) Secure 6) Makes you an automatic guru to strangers 7) Can do almost anything a windows box can do (once I can figure out how to get my Linux box to crash like windows then I can scratch the almost part)
I worked with windows 7, ubuntu 11.04 and MAC Lion. Compared to these three I like to work MAC OSx only because of system performance, graphics and unique functionality of MAC. Ubuntu also good but some time it hangs if we use videos, games same time.
