I have a coupe of computers (new, used, etc.); all running Windows XP. It appears that one of them is running a counterfeited version of Windows XP. It's now showing this 'counterfeit' icon on the taskbar(?) at the bottom. What am I supposed to do now? What happens if I don't do anything about this ...???

You won't be able to receive updates. You can change the Reg Key to a valid one that you have, or will be purchasing through the registry. Google it.

Buy a new version of XP and install again.

I have seen in some warez sites about how to get rid of the annoying icon by doing some manipulations.
The better option is to go for original software if you have pirated version. That is safe and legal and you will continue to get updates :)

you must enter the validation code that is issued with the software.
if you don't get it, try getting solutions from other sites. i am sure there are sites out there that offer solutions to these problems. try Googling your problem. i am sure you will get an answer.
