Not 100% accurate. Linux is secure, meaning it doesnt leave open ports for trojans to get in, but any computer connected to the internet can get infected. Even Macs (which OSX is built on Unix).

Link to a recent page describing Linux's viruses

AVG even has antivirus for Linux.

Only reason you dont see many is the same fact you dont see many viruses for Macs. The shear numbers of these OSes in use is minute compared to Windows users. Many people claim there are no viruses for Macs to, but Ill disagree. There are a few out there. I know, I used to work for Apple providing desktop support.

Trojans don't come in via ports and Linux does leave some ports open but that's nit-picking.
Can get attacked is more correct. Infections don't occur on their own.
    OSX is certified as Unix.
Absolutely false! There may be more *nix installations than Windows since *nix is prevalent in everything but the desktop, including the whole internet, High Performance and super computers, embedded systems, your router, and on and on.
There are viruses out there but there has been no successful, widespread virus for *nix in 10 years.

The reason *nix is so much more secure than Windows is the level and number of permissions required for anything to be installed and run. You can download, install and run the worst of the viruses but still not be able to bring down any *nix system.

If your opting for a Windows compataible Anti-Virus program and paying for license, i'd suggest using either ESET NOD32 or Kaspersky Anti-Virus as they've seemed to prove themselves worth it in past few years. I believe they are the best ones available on the market for Windows O/S's. If your going to get a free one, either get Comodo Anti-Virus or Avira Anti-Virus as they seem to be the best ones.

Dangerous New Virus Scam Attacks Macs

See, it can be done. Like I said, they arent common because they'd rather attack windows PCs but since there are more Macs out there now a days, here they come.

Some one asked for a good windows AV. I recommend Avast.com. If you get infected, malwarebytes works well.

yes, right. Linux doesn't need anti-virus. It is not prone to viruses unlike Windows.
