Windows 8 is designed for touch screens pc's. So if you don't have one, you won't enjoy the full features of Windows 8.

I just finished installing the beta, only took a billion hours to load. Does anyone know how to search for apps directly from the desktop? I'm using it on a laptop and currently I have to go to metro view and then hover over an icon in the bottom right corner for App Search to appear.

If it's designed for tablets, then it's not really made for Windows PCs.

I will still stick to Windows 7 Ultimate. I'm loving it already. And I guess there's no big difference between the two OS.

I tested it when it's still beta and honestly, horrible experience! I spent 5 minutes just to find where is the shutdown button!

I hope the current will be better than that!

Really? People are always resistant to change. I just don't know how they'll take Windows 8. When is the release date?

Windows 8 would have new Metro-style touch-based interface and you can switch between the simple Metro interface and the traditional Windows desktop to fit whatever your needs are at that given moment.
As 4 me I like it’s running apps very much.
The browser has lots of touch-based controls, like pinch to zoom and copy and paste, and you can access options like search, share, and settings through the Charms bar.
    it's incredible!!!!
