Windows 7 has a better design and performance compared to all windows but it can't be compared to mac yet as that is way ahead. Hope Windows 8 come near to them.
@BRum - just arrived in Chicago and finally getting to see my son's new Mac i7 with a 27-inch screen. Can't play with it now but his one-minute demo knocked my socks off.
Wow, I thought my 23 inches were big I expect that'll have much better hardware than my Windows machine. One annoying thing about Macs is that they're so expensive. Even if Mac were better spending over £1,300 is a bit excessive. He's a lucky lad!
I second that, and to say that Windows 7 is not popular compared to other OS is the understatement of the century! Not to mention if we follow the Microsoft trend of fails and success, Windows 8 should be another flop. Windows Xp (nice) ~~ Windows Vista (what the heck) ~~ Windows 7 (great!) ~~ Windows 8 (another flop OS wannabe)
i like windows 7 myself i think vista suckd and same with xp hopeing windows 8 has some better features though.
Thank you for sharing our knowledge of the operating system. About windows 8 I have a certain understanding, thank you.
On Windiws 8 I can safely say I won't be migrating to it. I happily used XP for about a decade and have only been using Windows 7 for about a year.
at google, programmers are offered the option of two 24-inch monitors or one 30-inch. I really like this 27-inch screen. Consumer Reports rates Apple computers #1 in every category against all others for reliability, usability and support for several years.
Sounds good at google, I'll have to make do with my 23 inch (digital) and 17 inch (analogue lol I know) monitors While their support and reliability etc.. is number one, I still wouldn't be able to justify myself spending about four times more on a Mac with the same hardware. The thing with people like us is that we don't need support, at least I don't. Bodging is worth it when it saves a lot of money
I'm the same way. All our servers are antiques and I never buy hardware cause people keep giving us their "old" computers when they "upgrade" to the next version of Windows. lol I have six CRT monitors. Two are barely used. Two others aren't good enough for color or graphics so they're only for text/console stuff. I'd love to see them burn out so, one day, I'll be able to buy me a flat screen all to myself.
Haha I like that. Treat yourself mate I have an ancient PC just sitting on my floor I hope one day I'll find use for. Maybe I'll try to break it from within. There's something fun about having old machines lying around collecting dust
I use Windows 7, and I like it overall. There are some glitches that annoy me, but I can live with them, though. I cannot wait to mess with Windows 8.
Check out the Windows 8 preview, I thought it was pretty good: http://activewin.com/reviews/previews/windows8/
I've always found anything about technology to be of great interest. I am not at all ashamed to say that I get things because they are new. I'm always into trying new things. So, I will be buying Windows 8 when it comes out, and I will be beta testing it well beforehand as soon as I have the opportunity to do so. I have to learn new versions of Windows anyhow, since I also make my living as a computer service technician. Whenever a new version of Windows is being released, I do all that I can beforehand to learn everything I can. So when it is released, I already know what I need to know to help those who need help.
there is no problem with window 7 till it was a great improvement in vista and mot important it's not too heavy
