Too much - well a darn sight more than the free Google Chrome OS I think Microsoft have something to fear in Google Chrome OS - hence their hasty release of Windows 7 some months early - just in case.
It becomes your business when they stop support for a product they started just 2 years ago! you need to buy another version!
Microsoft think you are a cow that needs milking dude. I am keeping tabs on Google Chrome OS and will sort you with a copy on DVD for a fiver plus postage once it's released!
Dude, you can't compare Chrome to Windows. Chrome OS feels like it is one big web browser. It's nice and light, but it is built for a specifec purpose - netbooks. Not as a primary desktop OS. And yes, I have used it, I installed Chromiun last night and while it is nice, and will surely be a great addition to the netbook maarket, it just doesn't hold a candle to Windows in functionality and compatibility.
Uh, apparently you aren't aware ChromeOS is not a fully functional OS right now and only looks like a browser but, yes, it won't replace the desktop yet but it will eliminate Windows from netbooks and any other mobile devices.
i don't think they fear chrome OS.first of all,it's not a pc OS yet. microsoft debated a before or after holiday release based on how well the economy is. you know, selling copy's of windows is gravy for them. most of microsofts profits are from manufactured pc and laptops. if chrome OS for pc's is released,i don't see the manufactures switching to a flavor of linux.
Lol...Windows 7 is just out and now window 8. So fast they are going. I think i should wait to upgrade my computer
just say dont waste money !!! better enjoy Windows xp !! till 2012 !! Save money for the ticket of Ship !! which will cost around 10 billion Euro becoz world is ending !!! )
W8 should be quite different. It would most probably be designed to run on the Microsoft touch surface on which their chief research and strategy officer Craig Mundie is working on. Basically it will redefine interfacing techniques in the coming future. http://edition.cnn.com/2009/TECH/12/01/craig.mundie.microsoft (A vision of computing from Microsoft's future thinker)
