There is no way it will come out next year nor should anyone want it to. When it is complete is when it should come out. Companies always put release dates on things which shouldn't have a release date on them. This forces the companies to rush the product and we're left paying the price. I would rather them take 10 years to make a perfect operating system then release one every 2 year. Operating systems have gotten so advanced that you just can't make one in a year or two.
I wrote about the touch aspect of Windows 7 on my tech blog a few weeks ago and welcome the touch input technology being a part of the OS. But I think we should be looking way beyond that already! I mean, it is sad when my new smart phone already has this technology and my brand new $3000 computer doesn't! My question is where is Microsoft Speech Server!? Bill Gates was showing this off over two years ago and it still hasn't made its way into OS releases. Touch input... great... about time. When we get it, it'll already be time for Speech input!
no duh, they all do that. Doesnt anyone remember what Windows 98 looked like compared to XP? Fact. My mom complains 'vista is crap' no, nothing runs because you have 5MBS OF SPACE LEFT ON THE HD!
Thank you, thought I was the only one. I love Vista; the people that complain must be trying to run it on a ZX80. Vista does what XP did but better. A really old PC will run Windows 95 ok but will struggle with anything newer. If you have a good PC then you won’t have any problems with Vista. I’m in no rush for Windows 7. Thanks Brian
VIsta isnt bad at all on my laptop. but having windows xp on my laptop made it a little faster but it came with vista so it runs smoothly
It seems to me it will have useless features that I do not need. No thanks, I'll stay with Vista for now.
I'm still on XP and will never touch Vista as I've heard people having problems with it. Windows 7 should be interesting and maybe Microsoft can get it right this time and actually make an OS that will work 100% and not crash or blue screen.
It's a "code" name, I'm pretty sure they'll change the name when it'll be released like they did with every operating system till now. Vista was called Longhorn
