Windows 7 will replace Windows XP market share and even Mac OS

It is claimed that Windows 7 has taken 10% of the global market, and it has taken Windows 7 just five months to hit the 10% milestone. However, Vista didn't pass that target until May 2008, 28 months after its first appearance.

At present, Microsoft has authorized 100 million authorization of Win7 so far, which is consistent with the market share data, but less than the goal that Microsoft had hoped to authorized 177 million authorization of Win7 before the end of 2009.

Windows 7 is definitely better than other OS available. It will conquer 30% share in the near future.

Windows 7 is a great improvement and a "Vista nightmare remover" anyway. However, I would doubt if they can go and take place over MAC OS easily. I am saying this for consumer market only, not including enterprise market, cloud hosting market and so on.

well, next time i get a new laptop i'll surely add to that market share as i'm sure alot of current vista users will. It seems only natural that eventually 7 will take over the market. It will be interesting to see how long this OS stays the main focus until they start trying to dole out a different one. I often wander how fast technologies will keep developing.

I'm glad to see 7 doing so well because Vista was trying to do too much.

I'm a gamer on PC's and let me tell you, Windows 7 gives me better performance, and less tweaking .ini files to get my games to actually work.

Absolutely agree. Rebecca's claim is not based on anything at all and appears to be mere guesswork on her part with no evidence to suggest otherwise. In fact, Mac market share has been steadily increasing for the last 5 years contradicting what she is saying.

I have to clear the fact, I didn't make this post just by guess. I have read many reports about Windows 7. Now Windows 7 market is growing rapidly and has cracked amost 10% market share. It's definitely objective.

W7 deserves to be the leading OS on the market, it simply rules.

I never tried Vista. Looking at all Vista rants didnt want to try it out.
Just upgraded from Xp to WIn 7.And Iand must say its totally great in overall performance.
It will surely lead the OS market , given some time for it.

From who? Microsoft? I'm sure Microsoft will tell you anything they want you to hear but my complaint is you think this somehow affects Mac sales and you are highly incorrect with that as it is well known Mac sales doubled two years ago and have been increasing since. Also, Windows7 getting 10% market share only means it might only be replacing other Windows computers but NOT necessarily gaining any ground.

Compared to Vista yes it's great, but I still think windows has a ton of room for improvement.
