This is what I was afraid of. Have you tried Win 7 and what do you think of it?

I wonder how the performance of Windows 7 is in netbooks compared to windows xp.

If Windows 7 is based on Vista, it should be slower when running in netbooks.

It is true that Windows 7 is based on Vista but Windows 7's speed has been increased to almost be as fast as XP. Netbooks should still use XP because it is still faster.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna stick to XP until I get more RAM. I assume that W7 won't deal same with multitasking on 2GB RAM like XP would do. Still can't wait to switch to W7.

I have a friend in serious dialogue with Microsoft because apparently Office 2007 will not update with Windows 7 installed.

    Anyone else noticed this.

It does seem a very serious stumbling block because he cannot get the security updates that they keep turning out.

Windows XP has served me long and its really awesome..I mean was.
    vista couldnt impress me much..
But Windows 7 is just like a newer version of XP - in the sense, its really user friendly, great new feel and cost isnt very high.
    Windows 7 FTW :D

Upgraded to Windows 7 after using Vista for a year and the difference is undeniable.

Installing Windows 7 has been one of the best investments I've made in my business.

I'd recommend it for anyone sitting on the fence unsure if the upgrade is worth it.

Do you think it would perform well with 3gb of ram?

I mean for all the applications it runs and for games?

When it comes to games, Win7 is undeniably better than XP due to DirectX11 alone. I'm running 8gb of DDR3 and I can't see XP performing better than Win7 here (Dual-boot).
