I wonder how the performance of Windows 7 is in netbooks compared to windows xp. If Windows 7 is based on Vista, it should be slower when running in netbooks.
It is true that Windows 7 is based on Vista but Windows 7's speed has been increased to almost be as fast as XP. Netbooks should still use XP because it is still faster.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna stick to XP until I get more RAM. I assume that W7 won't deal same with multitasking on 2GB RAM like XP would do. Still can't wait to switch to W7.
I have a friend in serious dialogue with Microsoft because apparently Office 2007 will not update with Windows 7 installed. Anyone else noticed this. It does seem a very serious stumbling block because he cannot get the security updates that they keep turning out.
still using windows xp and i will go windows 7 when i get more then 4 gb off ram. with windows xp you will not see more then 4 gb off ram on system setting
Wow so many people supporting windows 7, Microsoft has certainly recovered after the shipwreck Vista. I am seriously reconsidering moving to Windows 7 but that is when I have enough money...lol Till then XP all the way
Windows XP has served me long and its really awesome..I mean was. vista couldnt impress me much.. But Windows 7 is just like a newer version of XP - in the sense, its really user friendly, great new feel and cost isnt very high. Windows 7 FTW
I may update soon, starting using vista x64 I really need to try Windows 7, I've heard so many good things
Upgraded to Windows 7 after using Vista for a year and the difference is undeniable. Installing Windows 7 has been one of the best investments I've made in my business. I'd recommend it for anyone sitting on the fence unsure if the upgrade is worth it.
Windows 7 look and feel is good when compared to xp..i like windows 7 when compared to windows vista and xp
Do you think it would perform well with 3gb of ram? I mean for all the applications it runs and for games?
When it comes to games, Win7 is undeniably better than XP due to DirectX11 alone. I'm running 8gb of DDR3 and I can't see XP performing better than Win7 here (Dual-boot).
i had 3gb of ram running win7 pro. it was fine. no issues except outlook kept crashing but the new service pack fixed that as far as i know. XP is old now and time that i upgraded to 7.
