I have Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate guys and the system detects only 3gb of the ram. I read a lot of things before opening the thread, so i just want to know that anyone has a TESTED working patch (I saw a Russian patch out there but i can not get it working on my previous installs) to get it working with 4gb ram (I am planning to use 1gb of it as a Ram disk)
Well, as far as I know, 32 bit Windows (no matter 7 or XP or Vista), detects up to 3 or 4 GB RAM. You need to install 64 bit Windows if you want to have full performance of your PC. I haven't tested any patches though ... I guess that patch wouldn't do a thing ... but not sure ...
Thanks for your answer. I have not any problems on Vista, it was detecting 4gb on my Vaio. On linux i am changing kernel or compile my own so i can fix this issue. But On Win7 i am looking for solutions... EDIT : BTW The patch i mentioned at the thread is here : http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives...ista-32-bit-x86-support-more-than-4gb-memory/
