I have 7 loaded on two computers and it functions. That is about it though. I have it loaded on a Lenovo X61 and a new desktop I just built with a Intel Quad Core running on a Super Micro motherboard. Install was fine. Simple to do, a little different. I have run into a few issues, but overall I am much happier with Windows 7 than Vista that is for sure. If people have not figured it out yet, Microsoft makes so much more money by releasing a bad operating system and forcing it on their end users for a year or two and then sell them again on the newer operating system which should have been released first. My biggest issue with all of it is that more and more DRM is being built directly into the operating system.
windows 7.. hands down and legs up... XP was great, but it doesnt match up to 7 at all... and vista... we dont really need to go there do we ??
Stop whining about Vista and everything, yes I agree vista was a failure, maybe for some not even that bad... Also, I agree, XP was a HUGE hit, but its time to MOVE ON, Windows 7 is fast, reliable, clean looks, nice functionality and customization. Also, comptability mode rocks, and I haven't found an app that hasn't worked yet. Without doubt, go for Windows 7, its definately worth it!
Of course, XP is better but, I have to see more about Windows 7 before, I confirm this ! But, I'm sure Windows XP is better !
Should we even be debating XP or Vista? There is no contest. If you have decided that it's Windows you want to use, then surely it's got to be XP. In terms of reliabilty and uptime (this is relative of course....we are talking Windows here...) there is no comparison to Vista which Microsoft did itself no favours in introducing. Windows 7 is still new and unproven. The issue may be...is there a supported upgrade path from XP to Windows 7? Would really like to avoid Vista like the plague...
I've been using Windows XP since it came out. I refuse to use vista, but on my next build, I really want to try Windows 7. I think Microsoft is finally getting it right
