Windows 7. It's reliable and bug free. Windows 8 seems to be designed for tablets and when I'm on the move I like to look at the scenery and take photos!

Honestly the way I see it is that Windows 8 is the same as Windows 7. Some things are in different locations, but all in all it is the same. The only thing Windows 8 is just annoyance, but hey maybe it just takes some getting used to.

That's probably true. I'm thinking of moving to 8.1. I'm still on 7 though.

7 is far far better than 8, Its user-friendly , 8 is nothing rather than fancy look.

Without dancing around directly answering your question, I want to express that in my opinion both Windows 7 and 8, naturally, have their own share of pro's and con's. Windows 8 for many, myself included at the beginning, can be very difficult to use--and many may consider it not 'user-friendly'. At the same time however, we must appreciate that any new Operating System, especially if previous familiarity isn't present, will have it's challenges when trying to adjust to change and a new platform. Windows 8 definitely has a lot of what I would refer to as 'sophisticated' features, and requires some additional time to understand and learn how to use applications such as IE, or even the multiple window options more efficiently. Best. William

I love Windows 8 on the PC!
I have migrated all the PCs from 7 to 8 and now 7 looks "imamture" to me.

Going with windows 7 Ultimate on this one. Had windows 8 for about a month and then decided to switch back. I give it to microsoft for at least trying to compete.

Windows 7 has a way better theme for desktops, but is a bit slower than windows 8. I personally use windows 8 for the speed, and have installed some programs to make everything like windows 7, for example remove the metro UI and go to the desktop, add the start button and so on.. The result = Windows 7 (actually windows 8 but it's like using windows 7) with a little more speed.

Windows 8 is fine for tablets, but I still enjoy my desktop and laptop, so I prefer Windows 7. I don't like seeing apps for a billion different things when I'm on my PC!

I can't say categorically "no" to Windows 8. It is very fast, fun and etc. But for me Windows 7 is more user friendly, so I am still using it.

Windows 8 is the biggest joke ever born - No one likes it and it sucks.

Windows 7 would be my choice but I do use linux not used windows for years, but I am sure its another vista trick, make an OS that sucks, make everyone buy it then release a better one asap and sell it all again

You can always make windows 8 look and feel exactly like windows 7 if you want. There are complete tutorials available online. Windows 8 is much better just about every aspect I can think of so don't turn away from 8 just because of metro ui.
