    of course windows 8 is so new and people do not like change, so they would rather choose the old windows 7 to stay in their comfort zone ... if you want a better running OS, and understand the benefits of win 8, you will choose win 8

    Windows 8 has a better user interface,but it depends 'for what you are using your system' if you have softwares which are quite old meaning it's been a year or since you purchased them,windows 7 would run it smoothly but windows 8 although having the compatibility mode option would fail to run it that smooth.

    Both operating systems are good. In graphics & processing win8 much better then win7. Smart screen provides you better interface with apps. but still there some bugs in win8. You need to compromise with some soft-wares which have not updated yet.

    At present day scoring
    Win7 = *****
    Win8 = ****

    I like window 7 and it's going great, some days before I just get reviews for window 8 and get several dis advantages from some users (my close friends). So I may not be recommended for window 8 to you.

    I would rather use Windows 7, I enjoy the Desktop environment better than the new UI. If I were operating a touch screen based computer I would be okay with Windows 8, but the fact that system options are hidden in different parts is a tad annoying.

    I just don't think people were ready to depart from the Desktop like Microsoft is wanting us to. They are trying to turn a desktop experience into a tablet/touch based one. Which will never work in most businesses. I know how computer illiterate some people are in Windows 7 and XP, let alone adding the complexity of Windows 8 all new Start Menu and Live Tiles.

    Well, after some time when you will be familiar with it's interface then there will be no tension to handle it.

    Same here. Though now Win XP is no longer practical for me. I'm on Win 7 and it works just fine. Have an old laptop with Win Vista on it and Vista sucks! Can't wait for Win 8 verdict.
