Ive seen 8 and as quite a few of you say, it looks horrible, i just cant stand the blockyness and so im staying with 7, nothing wrong with 7 at all, Microsoft are still supporting it so I dont see why I should change, and said, games arnt being supported by 8 at all right now.

For anyone not liking the personalization, 8 can be set up to open to the desktop.

As far as being more for a tablet, anything you can do with a touchscreen on a tablet you can do with the mouse on a laptop without a touch screen.

But I'd rather they had spent the time and effort actually improving the OS, instead of just giving it a new face and screwing it up.

I've not tried Widows 8 yet. It has been recently arrived. So, it would take some time for any one to give proper feedback and rating between windows 7 and windows 8.

Is there going to be a huge difference between 7 and 8?
I'm considering if I should make the jump.

On the programs you run? Not much. The "desktop" is very different, though. For instance, if you want a Start menu you'll have to download one.

I think I'd recommend sticking with Windows 7. I have Windows 8 but I've also had numerous issues with it, ranging from freezing to slow boot ups. And my laptop is a mid-range one which works super fast on windows 7.

I am using Windows 7 and thinking of switching to Win 8. But other win 8 users informed me that Win 8 is not so updated than Win 7 and eats so much graphics space. So I am in a dilemma.

Windows 7 is better because windows 8 is good for touch screen gadgets.
In case you are using desktop or laptop it's best for you.

8 works just fine with a mouse - you don't need a touch screen. But if you have one it makes some things easier. (Some of the newer top end laptops have touch screens, and I'm waiting to see some reasonably priced touch screen monitors. $350 for a 15" monitor isn't reasonable.)

Windows 8 will be good down the line when more and more people are using tablets and less are using PC's. Until then, Windows 7 is much, much better. Windows 8 was designed for tablets, and it's mysterious that you can only open 2 windows at once in the OS. You would think with a name like Windows, you'd be able to multi task better. Although you can go to desktop mode and get more windows, it's not seamless.

    Windows 7.

Windows 8 is a step backwards from Windows 7. Plus W8 is basically made for tablets.

Plus I hate metro on a PC.

    No, Microsoft.

    No.
