I've been running Windows 7 RC 7100 for a few months now and have nothing but good things to say about it. I haven't had a single problem with it whatsoever. I'm also running on a brand new laptop though.
I don't believe there is anyway to active any of RTM versions as yet. Meaning you would need to run a sys-prep once more to gain an additional 30 days of usage once your initial 30 days expires. A bit too much trouble at the present time
Well having tested the beta version in a working environment I would have to say that it definitely feels a little quicker and not as sluggish as it's predecessor. Although my work PC is a couple of years old upgrading to the Win 7 beta actually made the PC slightly more usable and offered a reasonable speed enhancement, enough to seem noticeable at least. Aside from the odd anti-virus compatibility issues I have not had or seen any issues with Windows 7. Fingers crossed, Microsoft may be on to a winner with this one.
I have an old laptop that had a hard time with XP, but it flies with 7, so the performance is very good. But driver support and program compatibility still have much to be desired.
Windows 7 Ultimate has already been cracked. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cracked-Windows-7-RTM-Ultimate-Activated-with-OEM-SLP-Master-Product-Key-117838.shtml That didn't take long. Why does microsoft even bother with copy-protection? Just to annoy honest users I guess.
The good thing about Win 7 is that it uses less resources than Vista, So you can keep the current HW and Win 7 might even work faster.
I hope that Windows 7 will be better than Vista and the drivers support for various products will be available in that soon.
I am using Windows 7 now and it fastas and much better than Vista (Tho, not faster than XP but also better than that). I didn't installed any drivers, It's like built in.
I'm on the RTM right now and I'm IMPRESSED and AMAZED. Very fast. Comparing to Vista it's like night and day . Will def get the final version! Cheers
I've been running R2 on my laptop and desktop and haven't had any problems with it. Other then the lack of drivers for my integrated webcam. I do wish that windows had more option for dual screens though.
Yes. You all are right. Windows 7 is still consider by many vista users. Because its far better then vista already. Just wait for its released
