Windows 7 free or low charge after July 1? What exactly is it?

Well couple days ago Microsoft announced that Windows 7 will be coming out this year in October 22. And there are talks that there will be a program if you buy a Vista pc after July 1, you'll get Windows 7 for free or very low price.

Now heres my question, lets say I bought a computer last month and I never registered it. If I register my computer after July 1, will I be eligible to get a Windows 7 upgrade?

As far as I read, large OEMs will give Windows 7 coupons together with Vista shipped desktops and laptops so when 7 is out, you'll use coupon to upgrade.
I read in the largest Australian forum that Acer already selling new Timeline Aspire series there with Windows 7 coupons.

    Hope it helped ;).

I think the only way MS is going to compete with Google is to make 7 free and make Bing do some really cool stuff in conjunction with it.

7 free, and microsoft? impossible. I'm guessing it shuold be something to do with registering because what if the program launches and people already buy a box that doesn't have a coupon code.
