Windows 7 [Direct link download]

Windows 7 will be designed to run on hardware from 2007. This means that a computer with a 1-GHz 32-, or 64-bit (x64) processor, 1 GB of system memory, at least a DirectX 10 graphics card, if not even DirectX 9, with over 128MB of graphics memory, and a 40 GB hard drive will be more than enough to power Windows 7.

Everyone hopes it's better than vista, but how come some many people give vista such a bad rap? It far out performs xp. The only issue I have with vista is that is uses a lot of memory. A simple upgrade in ram fixes that. XP was junk. Does everyone remember the lsass worm? lol. I was in tech support at the time for an ISP and we had more calls related to XP problems than our ISP ever had.

I have 64-bit Vista, one 740Gig hd, and 5 gig ram. I guess my computer would run Windows 7, but can I duel-but it when installed on the same drive? Or will I need to install another hd and install Windows 7 on that?

 

You just need to create a seperate partition on the same hdd.

I had the biggest smile on my face when I was playing around rearranging taskbar items. I stopped the task bar items from combining, so I got the full text. Being able to add "Videos" to the right side of the start menu was sorely needed in Vista and MS Paint now looks awesome, even though it is still outperformed in graphics capability than MS Word.

 

Hope windows 7 will save the Microsoft and give a better experience to the users unlike the previous vista but when the full fledged version will be released?

 

uh, no it isn't..lol
it's actually a lot slower than vista
I won't be upgrading my computer any time soon. It fly's with vista, but was just annoying with win7

 

Hence the reason its a BETA version....

 

Windows vista is cool.
Windows xp was cooler.
Hope windows 7 is gonna be the coolest
