I think windows 7 is the most successful product by Microsoft. The market share of Windows 7 is growing and more people upgade windows xp tp windows 7. What about you?

They have no other choice I suppose. It's either Vista or Windows 7 because XP is becoming outdated.

People didn't upgrade from XP to Vista cause it had bad reviews.
Now that Seven is getting popular, I'm pretty sure most of XP users will upgrade.

I am using Windows XP currently. I had upgraded to Windows 7 and it was awesome, except the software compatibility issues I found. That's why I had to switch back to Windows XP.

It is not surprising for me - I can hardly find any disadvantage in the work of Windows 7.

I have nothing against Windows IMO but really the only thing out there you can use is windows because most software works for it - I only wish there was a lot more hard competition like IE vs. FF etc. I dual boot Ubuntu and tried Mac OS but too many programmings lagging IMO

Mate drop this tirade with anti-microsoft everything...example, about 60%+ of software made on the mainland china market (including AliMessenger) is only for Windows which makes it very difficult for many traders to use anything outside a windows base. I'm far from a microsoft supporter but you gotta come down to earth a bit on this mate.

I'm sticking with XP, or whatever I have until I absolutely need to buy a new computer. With OS upgrades come tons of compatibility problems with existing software - some of which can never be fixed. It is amazing what a hassle it can be to upgrade software for each OS upgrade.

thank you for all your reply. I hope the Windows 8 which will be released on 2012 is better than Windows 7.

Not as much as you'd think, people really got burned by the Vista situation (just a few years after Windows ME!) and don't really trust MS windows releases.

Just now noticed this. I don't know what Ali Messenger is, and obviously it's a specialized tool, but Windows people have got to get down off this thing that just because Windows software doesn't run on *nix that *nix is no good without realizing there are tools just as good on *nix. 99% of the people here do NOT need Microsoft Office Suite and can do just as well with OpenOffice. 99% of the people here do NOT need Outlook and can do just as well with Evolution.

I can come back with the same complaint, that too much software on Windows is lacking because my *nix software can't be found on Windows. As a person who runs a 28-person business completely on *nix, I can testify that no one needs Windows for anything except the occasional specialized program. For example, QuickBooks, but that's the ONLY Windows program we use and, actually, my wife uses it from home and not the office.

This might be realistic for usa and eu or related markets, but a huge market like China right now lacks support for non windows software , plain and simple. You don't know what Alimessenger is or a myriad of other software out of china just like millions of others don't know but the 400,000,000+ (more coming) chinese net users are forced to use windows due to limited software development on other platforms. Especially much of crucial trading software that hasn't been developed for anything outside windows. In due time, let's hope it changes but for now don't live in a dream world because a huge net population exists outside of usa/eu.
