Windows 2000 boot up?

I can get Windows 2000 to fully work with all of my drivers. But one thing that concerns me is the boot up. What happens is when I boot up, it comes up with my motherboard information, then it goes to a light black screen for a few seconds. Then it would do a white loading bar at the bottom of a black screen. Then after that loads it would bring up the Windows 2000 loading screen. Is there a fix or a way to slip the CD to fix this?

    Wrong forum...

Clean your cabinet and reinsert the RAM modules. That may help. Also set the first boot drive to HDD and not cd.

This is a fresh Windows 2000 install. Also this is the Microsoft forum correct? I see a topic in here about windows xp and 7. I have it set that I need to hit F10 to boot up from CD.

Have you enabled quickboot in BIOS? It must be in General options.

I'm not sure, but I know with Windows XP it does not do this. Also I remember this thing from back when I installed 2000/XP on my 95 machine. But I am installing it on my less-than-a-year old pc right now.

Windows XP is surely faster than win2k. Have you installed the latest drivers?

Windows 2000 is much faster... It also uses less RAM. Yes I have all the drivers installed. The only reason why I prefer 2000 is because I can work easier using the old fashioned layout of things.

Do you know that you can use a Windows Classic theme for Win XP? It also use less RAM compare if you use the Windows XP style theme.

In Windows 98 you could go to start, programmes, accessories, system tools, system information then to tools, system configuration utility and it gave you tick boxes of all of the programmes and processes that started up when you boot up the computer.

Yeah I agree on you..I am also using the Classic theme in XP
cos it saves RAM usage compare to the XP style theme....
There is actually no disadvantage when using the Classic though it looks not so attractive... yet it helps..

The solution is that on your BIOS you need to set BOOTUP to HDD.

This is normal, that is the way windows 2000 is supposed to boot up. While the white bar is loading, that is when you can hit the space bar and see extra boot options.

Dont worry about it, that is the what windows 2000 is supposed to boot up.
