Vista. Things seem to not break. I used to get programs crashing all the time on XP. None of that on Vista.
Someone likes their eyecandy Still, I agree Vista is better if your PC can handle it. I have my PC setup at the moment with both XP and Vista on it, with the 2 sharing the same localhost/web server and I found that I was using more and more of Vista and less and less of XP, until tonight I am backing up my entire 250GB XP partition onto another partition for transfer over to my Vista one. Still have 4 hours to go (and then another 6 or so hours copying it from the partition to Vista). Still, XP is a very solid operating system, and if your computer can't handle Vista (I'd really recommend at least 1.5GB of RAM), then it is still a fine choice.
i like xp, cuz i know where everyhting is...but i suppose if i spent a lil time to get used to it id like vista
I still prefer the old XP even though Vista looks so much nicer with the enhanced graphic. I don't need that as long as my computer runs smoother without delay.
Right I take back what I said. Vista so kindly copied all my installed programs to its drive (awesome!) but deactivated all of them, and some - including PowerDVD 8 - would refuse to activate, saying I needed admin permissions - when I was administrator, and hitting "Run as Administrator". SO I played around with the command line (its my b!tch) and gave myself access to the root admin account - but still no joy!
Don't get me wrong though XP is still a good program. If it's comes on your PC I wouldn't bother upgrading. The new features just seem to be enhanced graphics like lycos said. There really isn't a big difference between the programs IMO.
I have experienced XP on a few friends computers. And I'd say Vista is better. However I dual-boot Vista and Ubuntu, and I say Ubuntu is the best.
I dont like vista because it blocks everything I do that is supposably not legal. I hate Microsoft. That why im getting a mac.
Is that true ? Vista have higher requirements to hardwares, needs more memory. For my poor computer, I am not planning to install a Vista.
I like windows XP which is good for me... There is no problem arise still today. It is good in working conditions also...
