Win8 laptop can't print wirelessly to default printer

    Ok, so I'm away for the night and doing the airbnb thing and my host is having problems printing from his new win8 laptop to his printer. The mac can print wirelessly and his old desktop can print. The printer is setup and if I use the control panel to "troubleshoot" it comes back saying all is well.

    If I try to print from notepad I get a green box popping up saying there is an error. If I view the printer it shows that it has an error but if I click on that I just get taken to the print queue.

    Any ideas?

    Can you confirm you have installed the correct win 8 x64 driver for the printer?

    Anything showing in the event logs when the printing fails?

    Hi

    I didn't do the install and I imagine he let the laptop discover the printer and install itself.

    Good idea about the event logs, I'll check them.
