Even the first non-beta version of Win 7 will be a bit risky.

Well i say they are both the same. They both run on the same platform and coding but the only difference is the Win 7 will be backwards compatible with old software like xp was.

If that is the case it sounds like more of pig than Vista.

Windows 7 is still in beta version. Just wait for the final version to be release.

They've been running some tests on Windows 7 and comparing it to Windows XP and Vista.

I'm not going to go into the technical details - but with current hardware - XP still outruns both Vista and Windows 7 beta. It is when you get to the quad core systems that both Vista and 7 start catching up to XP - XP's kernel simply isn't optimised for multiple core systems. So chances are, in a few years (one, or maybe two), XP won't be able to keep up anymore.

Windows 7 is based on the same platform as Vista, so the basic look and feel are exactly the same - and based on what people say, its a hell of a lot faster than Vista on a lot of counts. That being said though, I heard good things about Vista as well while it was still in Beta - so I'm not holding my breath.

XP will do fine by me for a while longer.

I would choose Windows 7 because I've heard so many good reviews about it.

somehow i liked the windows 7 beta more than vista. It's faster and has many improvements over vista... I guess the final release would be even better .. so windows 7 for me

For stability use XP, for me I'm starting to learn and adapt to Vista, because sooner or later they wouldn't be focusing on XP anymore.

Same thing here,I got used to Vista and I totally not addicted to old programs anymore, in other words I wont stay behind, and when Seven is released I will get it.

Still my fav is Mandriva & Ubuntu Linux.
