What is your take on all the politically motivated videos on the video sharing sites like YouTube? Think they'll have any influence on the upcoming elections?

I believe they will, for those that already use the internet to help form their opinions.. trouble is: you can't believe everything you see or read!

Internet is a great invention and Ron Paul owes Al Gore a drink, but overall result won't change... We still will see Clinton and Guiliani in the finals

I think it's good strategy, but overall, I'm not sure, like you, that it will affect much..

I think any kind of "channel" that reaches a large number of people has some influence on elections

I think it most certainly will give influence to voters. But seeing as content on YouTube is uploaded by the general public, the amount of propaganda from all sides should be equal, or atleast, correspond with the views of the overall public.

Seems logical, but really depends on who has internet access.. alot of the poorer folk may not, so is their voice being heard?

    YouTube will influence everything.

I was watching both Bloomberg and CNN earlier and each referenced Hilary Clinton's new campaign on, you guessed it, YouTube.

Youtube is mainly watched by the group of individuals (18-34) who vote the least...I bet it would get some major press coverage, but until people actually care about voting, I doubt it will make that much of a difference.

I think that we have to look at the long term effect of marketing campaigns, faces and parties to the voter demographic least likely to show up at the polls.

As they age, they've had an opportunity to be informed/marketed to in a way that members of their demographic were not only 6 or 7 years ago.

We are all on the web daily, but have a hard time believing that it is a genuine tool for influencing society, but it is and that will only increase over time.

I particularly liked this blog post. How many of us are that forward thinking about the ramifications of what we share and post today?
