I had many good friends on different forums, I used to post on their forums very much and they used to be good and friendly with me. But as soon as I launched my own forum (available in my sig) they just stopped talking to me as they used to do Some of them are not even replying to my PMs. I am not trying to kill their forums at all, I am just running my own small place... even I am trying to run a forum because it has very few members and their forums are giant forums but still their behavior is getting changed because now they are treating me as a competitor? It should not be like that. Feeling very sad at the moment.

I don't think I would stop talking to my 2 friends who run forums/websites if they started a competing site (hell maybe we should work together for some cross-marketing!). One I discuss all the time about new website ideas and niche markets, he gives me a sobering second option and stops me from spending money where I shouldn't. The other is very quite about his internet dealings and how he is doing (I've been able to infer that he is doing well, but no specific numbers). But why would I stop talking to them if they got more success than I? It seems petty. Thats just my $0.02 worth.

Dude, if they really care about that small competition among friend..they're nothing except some silent rival from the early stage..keep your life as usual, and prove that you're doing what you're enjoy much.
Their behavior is awful. And you predicted correctly. Now they think that you are their competitor. These kind of people have weird mentality. I dont know what they think before doing such things.
