Will you get sued depends on the mark holder. Bare minimum, companies like
Dell and Microsoft are suing without having to send the Cease & Desist letter
    first.

But...I guess it won't matter for people who live in places beyond the party's
reach to just register that domain name and ride on it as much as they can 'til
they're finally taken away via court or whatever.

You can get sued for anything at any time. The question is whether or not you'll win (actually, the question is whether or not the simple act of being sued will ruin your life before you can win or lose).

In all matters, consult a lawyer before doing anything.

    Reminder: I am not a lawyer. :)

If you run sites with names like that then you should be careful, if you are not looking for trouble then it might be better to look at other safer topics.

It would probably depend on the site's content rather than the domain.

You'd need to be 100% certain that any comments on there were true and could be backed up with real facts or else you'll risk being sued for libel.

Sooner or later when any site with domains like those gets popular then Google, yahoo wouldn't want you to use their trademark. But just avoid domains like those, to be on the safe side.

If the website causes enough damage to the company that owns the trademark in the domain then yes, probably they will tell you to get rid of the domain.

Honestly, I think that's a risky move. Those are trademarked phrases, and having such would get their attention. Now if you did Googel, or Yawhoo! or something like that, they can't sue you.

The possibility of being sued always exist - I know there has been some success with other ***sucks.com websites.

Personally, I registered the domain FossilPromotions.com and was contacted by a lawyer representing the Fossil watch company that I needed to give up my domain. I couldn't even park it because it would show ads based on their products.

    Use caution when moving forward.

i had a similar experience to netbizman, lesson learned, i always avoid anything that may infringe on another company, safest bet.
