Yup, you heard it right I am also a directory fanatic like you guys and along with my paid dir i am planning to start a network of qualty directories. I plan to start around 10-15 of these and build them in the coming months. So would you be interested to buying bulk links in such directories ? It means that you can be listed in the complete directory network (10-15 dirs) for a reasonable premium Just contemplating this as a business proposal. Will it work ? And when i say quality directories i mean: Seperate branding No dropped domains Seperate ip Seperate link database
What do you consider a "reasonable premium" ? I have bought in bulk before and no doubt will again if the price is right...
So if i am not, will you be interested in such a scheme... I am talking quality PR 4 dirs Say 15$ for a regular link in all the dirs and maybe a 25$ for a featured link
I have a few directories and the upkeep+time involved is hard enough. Seeing someone try to manage 10+ directories is just about unthinkable.
I think it is very hard to manage multiple quality directories. I have two and I wish I only had one so I can concentrate in it. And by manage I don't mean review submissions, this can be done easily for a paid directory. Another alternative is to partner with other quality directories and offer a special price. Here the ones that will edit the descriptions to make them unique will be the winners. To answer your question, if you provide a quality network for a good price, of course I would be interested, $15 is too low for multiple directories...
are you having any free directories? If you are having free directories then it would be difficult to manage ,but if you are having paid ones it is very easy to manage!
Depends on the QUALITY and STRENGTH of each directory... Quality - Spam free, seo friendly, etc... Strength - PR, backlinks, alexa, inner pages PR etc... Will you be able to do it on all 15 directories ?
Talk to Aaron, he runs that 31 node one and I think it does very well. - http://www.directorynetwork.us/
The only time consuming thing i have experienced with my dirs is the free reviews, spending a few hours setting up the dir initially (applying mods, manually building the category structure, prepopulating with authority links) is an investment that goes a long way.. Trust me, directories are a lot easier to manage...i have like 20 blogs which eat my alive Yup, could or could not work..cause each individual will has his own price and will not settle for cheap The network i plan to build will play with the cost factor.. Agree as the only time i spend is buying links, my paid review lines are not that clogged Totally agree, any well i guess its just to easy for an expert to identify a spammy directory Just one look and one can tell Definitely, the amount of time i spend on my blog(original posting) is nothing compared to managing a directory Plus i have a few friends who help me out once in a while WOW, thats hell of a number. 31 is well beyond me unless i can manage to get some fulltime staff Well i have registered some domains, will see if i want to pursue this idea once i get up in the morning...
Knowing you in other forums and see how you take care of your sites and blogs I say is sure I will and when its done drop me a note. Thanks
@kiviniar I believe you already know what it takes to "manage" & promote a web directory. So if you are willing to do all that and really think you can handle it well, then why not. Go for it. Do let me know when you are ready.
