So let me get this right....there are free operating systems that you can use, but you don't...and you have justified it in your own mind that the one you want to use, should be free. Who made you the judge of what should be open source ? If that is the way your feel, then make your own, or don't use products that are for sale. Regardless of your personal beliefs of what people should do with their hard work, don't let your politics get confused with the law and stealing..you can justify it anyway you want, but you are either cheap, or a thief...or both, if you feel justified in using something, without paying for it.
What's your point? You're arguing with a person that already admitted to downloading pirated software and stay on topic don't be a troll the question was "will you buy windows 7?" not "Should Windows be free?"
i only get the latest OS when I get a new computer, so doubt I will change and purchase an OS for this computer, but if I need a new computer then will probably use it if it comes with it
No, I'll stick to OSX thank you. My desktop is running perfectly fine on XP and my macbook NEVER has problems. Gotta love OSX.
I'm really disappointed with Vista because of its hardware requirements. I will give a try before buying Windows 7. I hope lot has changed in Windows 7
Hey everyone, I've been testing windows 7rc for the last two days on my girlfriends computer and it's actually rather cool! Seems like windows finally got something right! Believe it or not, IE8 kicks ass!
I may or I may not buy Windows 7, but I believe there are some good and worthy causes for upgrading, but it may be a long shot.
Make sure you check out the RC since it's a free trial. So far I'm blown away! I just cant believe Microsoft actually got something correct for once. Granted, most of their ideas are copies of other people's ideas, like always, but they do have some great unique ideas of their own this time around.
no way! i've just installed Ubuntu, never going back to windows ever again, except for the few occasions for gaming that can't run on wine.
I will probably buy 7. I have a love/hate relationship with Vista right now. I like certain features, but hate how slow it is and how resource intensive it is. If they fix this with 7, and it isn't any more than $100, than I will buy it. And no, Windows shouldn't be free, not when Microsoft pays them as well as they do to develop the OS. That's also why Apple charges out the ass for their products. Linux is good, honestly, but until it's accepted by the majority and more user friendly it won't be to the professional grade that Windows is. I love Linux because I am not your average internet surfer / word user. It's great for the techie, but not so much for anyone else. Windows deserves to be paid for, even with the occasional blue screen of death ( which from my view has gotten alot better over the years ). I've used Ubuntu on many occasions and had it lock up several times, no OS is perfect unless it suits your needs. Software does not need to be free to be good or even worthly of possibly paying for it. Without Microsoft, I doubt web technology or even computer technology would have advanced as far as it has, whether any of you would like to admit it. I would prefer to see Microsoft using some of their talent for more Open Source collaborations in their products, but as long as they employ so many people and put out the type of work they do I doubt we will ever see much from them as far as Open Source goes.
i'll definately "borrow" it until i'm sure i like the way everything works out... then maybe i'll get the legit copy
