Right now I am using Windows 7 RC and when the year expires in June 2010, if by that time, i think it is better than any current operating system, I will purchase the new operating system!

Same here. I actually enjoyed the beta and just downloaded the RC. I’ll give it a nice long trial and if it can do everything I can to in XP now. I’ll get a copy for my Desktop (currently XP64) and my laptop (Vista Ultamate64). Vista is just so slow, long start up time, whores recourses. And is seems as stable as a janga tower. It’s nice to see a lot of things fixed & it seems fairly good and finding drivers. My SLI setup in games actually gives me a higher frame rates in 7 in comparison to Vista…
I’m hopeful and optimistic for windows 7 as I have been on XP for about 8 years now.

i'm sticking to Fire fox as a brouser though. IE8 needs alot of work...

haha, you've never bought an operating system because you think they should be free. does that mean you've never paid for other things cos you think they should be free? ;)

Nope I'm sticking with XP and OSX. Imo buying windows 7 would just be a massive waste of money.

I personally won't buy windows 7. That is unless I decide to either upgrade my computer, or purchase a new one.

No I pay for things that actually deserve to be paid for like my anti-virus avast professional I actually pay for it along with all of my games and software.

The only reason why I think operating systems should be free is because they should be open source like Linux. Also which is why Google is taking over because they're making everything open source something that Microsoft isn't willing to do.

But the reason that you aren't using Linux and want to use windows 7 is because you expect it to be a better product. and that is how they can charge for it.

You are thinking in a very communist way. If the product is not successful and the company makes losses it may have to fire some of the staff. Don't forget that the shareholder have invested in the company to make profit. If there is no profit (or even more....losses) then the company's structure needs to be changed (unprofitable departments closed) letting go of extra staff etc.

If you use a program you should pay for it. Indirectly some of that money goes to the programmers. Not to mention the fact that the shareholders have their merits for making this happen.

You are making another confusion as well, about CEOs. The CEO is a simple employee. Yes he does care if the products don't sell because it means he didn't do his job right. It's the CEOs responsibility to do everything in his power to bring profits. If the ideea behind a product is bad then it's his fault. If the software is extremely buggy it's his fault because he chose bad programmers in the team or too tight schedules.

    Reallly harsh statement.:(

Think of it yourself -- You work hard to build up a software/OS and you don't get paid. Wouldn't that be a cool idea?

If you're not agreeing to Microsoft's policies, go use Linux. They're a business and NOT a charity. I don't see a single reason why you're cursing Microsoft when you're using their software and the one -- Linux, which you're appreciating, you don't use it at all!

Get a life and use Linux if you're not happy with Microsoft. Again, that's what we call business.
