    Hi,

My site got dropped for one reason or another ... im in the process of fixing the site and im going to ask yahoo to reinclude the site into the serps.

If i have not fixed the original problem that caused the drop will they tell me that im not being reincluded? will they tell me the problem?

    Thanks

Are you talking about the yahoo search engine or the yahoo directory? But I think for both, they will not give your the reasons of nonindex.

Chances are all you'll get back from Yahoo is a canned response telling you to read their Guidelines again. They are notorious for NOT providing any help pointing you to what the actual problem is. I've been through it with them a couple of times with a site. We had no idea what the problem was and couldn't get anything but the canned responses from Yahoo.

I went to Search Engine Strategies in San Jose and tackled every Yahoo I could find and explained the situation while shoving my card at them (ever so politely). It worked and I got an e-mail from a rep explaining what the problem was. Turned out that Yahoo could suddenly spider our javascript dropdown menu and they considered the text links we included at the bottom of the site pages to be duplicate.

Jeez, we were fixing stuff that didn't need to be fixed. Who would have ever dreamed Yahoo would spider JAVASCRIPT!

Anyway, I posted this on my blog a couple of months ago detailing the frustration and surprise at what they actually had an issue over. Don't get me started. :(
