Everything comes to an end sooner or later. Google won't be on top forever, but I think it's safe to say that they will be for next 5 years or so. ALso it probably wont be bing or yahoo that takes them down.

I would say its possible but its not going to happen. I don't see yahoo or bing taking over from Google.

Even by most everyone that I know who are savy in computer always say "go google it", "googling it" for searching online terms (even in movies). Its like automatic viral marketing for them, that even people who don't know what "googling" is, end up asking people around and figuring it out. They become another user. I think google will stick around for even 5+ years. Plus the new cloud stuff they are working on, not to mention the google+, it's more power to them.

that seems apparent with the various symptoms Yahoo displayed in recent months such as
    closing yahoo buzz
closing pulse.yahoo blog and another member blog
    selling delicious
and a week ago IBP newsletter reported that yahoo site explorer will be terminated soon

all signs of major survival problems at yahoo and a possible collapse of Yahoo

I don't see Yahoo in the mix as a contender. I never rule out Microsoft though. Look what happened to Netscape. I also think Facebook is starting to wear on some people the wrong way.

Probably not. Google is a giant industry right now and they're only getting bigger and bigger it seems right now. If anything I can see Google out-growing Yahoo and the other competitors and increasing the gap even more in the next few years.

I think they could compete but they won't do the things they need to do to be a competitor.
