no, because google is giant now.. and a popular company cant be taken don easily as MySpace/orkut faild to take down facebook.. its all depend on users , wht they want.. and users are now like google too much because of its simplicity..

Yahoo wold be many years too late to change consumer image it once created - hence NO Y may be happy just to survive
with multiple of Yahoo services being sold/discontinued the last few months (delicious bookmarks sold, pulse and other Y blogs discontinued, Ybuzz discontinued, it appears that Yahoo is just trying to survive rather than expanding or improving

if you look at how Y total traffic is split up into different Y sub-sections, then you see that the Y search is actually tiny despite the fact that Yahoo tries to publish all its services under ONE single domain, while Google has all its traffic split up into many domains. If you would accumulate all total G traffic from its services (such as gmail, blogger, etc) then the Google domination would become even more apparent

Bing (=Microsoft) never ever really had a good reputation in the general public. the only reason why M still exists is its monopoly on the OS market
A tiny Bing rescuer might have been the integration of Bing as Facebook primary search engine giving Bing at least one secured search market share
else Bing might be tiny as well - even more tiny as is already
with the increased broadcast of hacker activities and intrusions / abuse of mail, spyware, privacy loss, etc the last few weeks on global news such as CNN - it seems more and more ppl are moving away from IE and other M products - thus further decreasing M popularity. Since about 2 weeks all week long I have more Ffx users on my high traffic site than IE. until then I had more Ffx on weekends - but slightly more IE during working days. that means that those who go www dring weekdays at work more and more move to Ffx and thus to NON-Microsoft products even at work in a corporate environment

The only duty for Y and MSN (Bing) is to survive and create some small potential challenge to G to enforce G to never abuse its monopoly on the search market for selfish reasons.

Right now, since Yahoo is facing financial trouble, it is hard to say if they will ever be a viable competitor. They may be bought out, stripped down or close up shop.

I don't think so because Google is so much more than a search engine. They do pretty much everything and I don't think that will ever stop. They have so much momentum and so much technology they can pretty much do whatever they want. The people running that company are geniuses.

No. Yahoo! lacks innovation and isn't coming out with new products. Bing is pretty good for me.

Yahoo shutting down site explorer this year and recommend to use Bing Webmaster Center.
I think step by step, Bing will overtake Yahoo!

simple answer. NO! not never not ever not nevah evah! but i digress, even though Microsoft is responsible for the search function that Yahoo uses, ie web crawling and indexing, they do not have the resources to look at the same amount of information that Google can. Google has 1 priority and that is search, Microsoft has 1 priority that is software development.

Its really simple, Google has the ability to search crawl and index more sites on the web, meaning you are more likely to get the results you as a user are looking for when searching the web. Until yahoo and bing can bring similar quality search results to the table, they will never surpass Google.

Well, Yahoo was the giant of the 90s, but then Google came along and the rest is history. I don't really see Yahoo taking that leading position it had years ago, but you never know.

I think someone will come along to give Google a run for their money...but I don't think Yahoo or Bing will be it...they would've done it already. At this point it would be like Kmart or Winndixie rising up and giving Wal Mart a run for their money. I just don't see that happening.
