1.5GHZ 128mb Video card 256MB DDR2 ram 40 gig Please let me know if its possible to run vista, and which one should i get? home? ultimate? Thanks
If you currently running Windows XP, download and run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor and it will check if your hardware is compatible with Vista. If you want to run Premium because of Aero, you will need a minimum of 1gb RAM and 2gb to get smooth performance. With Aero off, 512mb should run and 1gb would be sufficient for the standard day to day work.
Funnily, I've got an HP laptop with similar specs (appart from the extra 512Mb of RAM I added last night). It has now been handed to the computer repair guys. The video card has blown an hour after upgrading to Vista. Maybe just a coincidence but a weird one.
Iam thinking of contacting the store i got my latop from and goin to ask if Upgrades are availible for latptop.... Hopefully charges wont be expensive
I would say the best thing to run Vista Premuium would be: Intel P4 3Ghz 80GB+ HD 2GB Ram that should be good enought to run smoothly.
I'm on Intel Pentium(D) 3,2 Ghz 2Gb DDR II 256Mb Video card HDD 250Gb Still not sure I am ready to test that Vista.
He's just annoyed. I can be annoyed, too. But I am just bored. The new look of the Vista is reminding me of a website page, not a windows explorer manager anymore. And the whole Windows Vista interface is like a full screen Windows Media Player. How sweet.
upgrade your ram and hard drive. and vista isnt crap at all. to me its the best yet from microsoft the interface is something new. a new thing that is way most definately needed in software design.
Actually it reminds me of Aqua. Seems I've been using something more advanced for about 6 years now. Yikes... Took them long enough!
Yeah well i am saving up for Ram possibly 1 gig, and HD. Hopefully then i wont have any probs runnin vista Also my gfx card is 128MB Intel
I believe he simply knows that Vista is just a nice looking face full of annoyances, resource intesive, but not real improvements in applications, performance, etc. etc.
