Thanks for the great forum. I have a good website and have good on page optimization done. But offpage I have less links and thats why have less ranking on google. So I have decided to create like 200 tutorial videos which will be on my website so clients can check them and get educated so our calls get reduced. Also I spoke with one seo person who told me that If I create lot of educational videos and uplaod them on my website as well as upload them on youtube, mega video etc I will get good links from these high pr sites and I will get high ranking in google. Is that true? I have seen some websites in which video is not embedded from youtube but have there own video player and have uploaded it on website. I thought having outbound links to these big website like youtube will be helpful so whats the best option. Also I dont want my video to be stolen by some other competitors because each video is costing me lot of money...Any recommendation?
I agree with SEO Pirate you can just host the video on your server. However there is no harm in using Youtube feeds just make sure that at the start or end of the video your website address comes up on the video screen. This way other people using the video will not be able to hide the fact that someone else made it.
Hi there, I'll say yes, Video are very helpful in SEO,because there are so many video submission sites having more then 8 PR and these sites are very popular and help us to get traffic on our site. Some video sharing sites are you tube, meta cafe, flicr.
Yes ofcourse video Optimization can fetch more traffic to your website there is no doubt in that...Hope this basic tips would help you during optimization Basic Tips For Video Optimization (Video SEO)...
The idea of hosting all of those videos on your won site is fine, if you want to. But why not host them on YouTube, with links coming back to your site, and not have the expense of all the space and bandwidth? You can embed the videos on your site, and they will still look great. If you're going to spend money on bandwidth, will this tutorial series have any benefit of being released as a Podcast series, so you can try to capture the iPhone, iPodTouch, and Apple crowd?
Hosting those videos on your own would cost you a lot since video take so much bandwith. Hosting on youtube would get you alot more attention since youtube is the number one video hosting site on the planet. You'll get more exposure provided you do it right. Make sure you watermark your video with your domain name. You can use video edting software for that.
it certainly brings more traffic. I always try to add a couple because I think it helps the ranking (i don´t know for sure, but that´s the idea I get). Anyway google likes sites with lots of content to become authority sites. And google likes usage of multiple content sources (especially those of high pr sites like youtube).
But where I am confused is how google knows that its my website video. because I am putting my domain name in video which google cannot read so should I use it in title or description?
Great Idea a video says 1000 thing in a few second, Yes Video is very much profitable for SEO. As you mention you do not do much off page SEO beside video you can do these also Directory submission, article Submission, blog comment, Forum posting, press relies

It depends. Google like to include video content in its organic search results. But not every video can get high ranking in google, only the ones that are informative and get a lot of view counts.
