    hi,

    i was coding one search engine, and was wondering which type of URL will help more in SEO

    Option 1 ::
    mydomain.com/read_result.php?id=12345&name=Name for That Particular Result

    Option 2 ::
    Using URL Rewrite
    mydomain.com/id=12345/name=Name for That Particular Result

    As per my knowledge,

    Option 2:
    mydomain.com/id=12345/name=Name for That Particular Result

    is the right choice. Always the URL have to be little and include the search query(keyword).
