Will this get me in trouble?

Does Google have a problem with you using another websites domain name or phrase in your keywords or on a text space on the front page?

For example, if there was a site called "myhats.com" and I just used my hats or myhats as keywords on my site, would that be an issue with Google?

 

how could they? Then you wouldn't be able to use the words google, ibm, liptons, digitalpoint, microsoft, apple in your website or keywords.

You can talk about anything you want I would imagine

Hats and my hats are generic terms. Why would google have a problem with that?

 

I'd say that A-Ok. If your site's main topic concerned another site, such as MySpace templates, you'd probably want to have that domain in your keywords.

 

Well, You never know. Google seems to have problems with most thing nowadays

Just wait a year, and they will probably say it's a no-no to even put up a website

 

if your site tackles about those keywords and putting them on your title, description and emphasized on you page will be strong.
