I have been doing Micro niche marketing. I am building a micro niche site which then will be an authority site for more competitive keywords of related niche. My target is long tailed key phrases. But instead of making many micro niche sites, i am experimenting to create pages in the same domain with my targeted keyword. Like hxxp://www.mainkeyword.com. If domain name is this,instead of creating another domain i will create hxxp://www.mainkeyword.com/targetedkeyword. Keyword will be in url and i will also optimize with onpage optimization methods. Now, my question does hxxp://www.mainkeyword.com/targatedkeyword will have same authority like hxxp://www.targetedkeyword.com? Waiting for replies....
Sure it will as long as you optimize the page and have a strong backlinking campaign. Having a domain name as your keyword can help it become ranked easier but you still have tons of on and off site seo that you have to do; subpages just need tons of work too
for relevancy, hxxp://www.targetedkeyword.com will result more than the first one. However, in SEO world we are not only talking about web relevancy, but also credibility of the website which is achieved by building backlinks. For non competitive keywords, hxxp://www.targetedkeyword.com will results in first page even without exhausted effort to build link. However backlinks is a must.
The second link comes from an external page and the first is internal. Both are important and usefull, I guess, however, that the outside is more effective.
