Will this directory "work"?

so i have a decent amount of PR5/6 pages all related to a certain topic

i wanted to take advantage of this by creating a directory for the topic

content/links would be in the form of dmoz

im hoping to get a decent PR for the directory itself and rank well in SEs

i wanted to monetize through ads/adsense opposed to selling links

    what do you guys think?

Well, if you are creating a niche directory which sounds like you are then it might work. There are hundreds of directories coming out every day, but lets say a directory on fishing might have a better chance of working then a general directory.

Maybe. If you're using them as-is, using the same text and without adding anything extra, then you could get caught up with a duplicate content penalty and few of your directory pages could appear in the SERPS.
