Will this break my TOA?

    I need some advice.

For some time I have been thinking about changing up how I do my Amazon Affiliate marketing.

Since my site is a forum I would usually just put the links to good games. However this has not been successful at all, so I was thinking of changing things up.

My idea is to give my members the power to put up amazon links and actually make money using my amazon affiliate code one my site. Basically if a user sees a sale on amazon they could post it in my forums deal section with the affiliate ID included in the URL ex:amazon.com/gp/product/B0016BVYA2?ie=UTF8&tag=XXXXX-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0016BVYA2

Here are some things that would be needed for this to work, and I'm not sure if they will:

    1. This can't break amazons TOA, I'm not sure since I would be paying other people the earnings from amazon
    2. I would need to be able to see what products have been sold (Does it show on Amazon exactly what products were boughten with the affiliate? I don't know because I have made $0)
    3. Can the URL be merged with the Affiliate ID automatically without having to go through Amazon?

I know that even if all these things can happen, their would still be a lot of problems just with spammers and whatnot, I just think it would be interesting to try it out.

    Thanks,
    Ty

    BannanoPeel,

I don't think what you are thinking about would break TOS, however, I'm not so sure it will have much of an impact on Amazon sales, either. On my previous automotive forum, I found that my members were already loyal to where ever they liked making purchases. As a result, I had to think how to use the Google PR of the forum to attract non-members to shopping information.

Let me share several ways that I did very well with Amazon and my vBulletin forum:

    1. Product reviews -- I used the Censura product and created a hook that displayed Amazon ads. This required pasting the ASIN in each review item. Not such a big deal.

    2. vBulletin Amazon Hack -- Adds your affiliate ID to any Amazon link use by a member in the forum.

    3. Hot Links -- I use thevBgeek's GABS system to replace key word phrases with a popup ad + link to Amazon.

    4. PriceTapestry -- I used PT to create a shopping catalog by category. I included both CJ and Amazon offers in the catalog to get multiple offers/prices for the same item.

I created custom blocks for the vBadvanced CMS to show latest review and featured items from PriceTapetry.

Items 1 and 4 above added nearly 15,000 indexed pages to my site and they provided the most traffic from Google.

On my best months (spring and summer) I was pulling close to $2k per month on Amazon alone from these features.
