That's not link spamming, in fact article syndication is something a lot of SEOs suggest.

Buying links, though, is something Google frowns on.

i agree. best to submit to quality links rather than quantity

articles are opnly as good as they are different.

google can detect duplicate content so if you submit the same article to 1000 sites it will be picked up flagged as duplicate and you wont get the links counted.

much better to try and build links naturally from blog posts or comments and forum posts etc.

if you have the money then start buying some decent links.

what it all comes down to is quality content.

Its not spamming. But Google dont like if you get too many backlinks fast. So keep the process slow. Overall nothing is wrong in it.

They can detect duplicate content, but they still crawl and parse the content, and see the link. If the page falls into supp hell, which is a PR question, not a duplicate content question, those links probably aren't going to send you any traffic.

I my experience you really have to get a ton of links for this to become a factor.

Are any of the article sites considered to be a "bad neighborhood"? I'm just starting to write articles and when I submitted to a couple of places, they spammed me. Any info on the best ones?

It's not spamming. And you are older so I think you know better than me but don't buy a lot of textlinks.

Seems like a good strategy to me.... just watch the relevance etc. or if you have the budget there are companies like Leapfrogg who can manage your link building for you.

I would continue with the review though.. although thats a BIG job! ;)

write an article and directory submission-- is definitely not a link spamming! This is one of the many process in doing SEO.. But buying links is a no no to google. I'm not sure if they already detect this as of today..
