will this be legal ?

    im not sure if what i would like to do is legal or not so i hope to get some advice here.

    lets say there is a site that offers movies that are hosted at free hosts like loombo, megaupload etc
    and they are showing that content (movies) by refering to those websites using the url of those
    hosts, would it be legal for me to use those links for my website ?

    so in other words they do not own the content as it is hosted at free hosts but they did have some
    work with it by uploading them.

    for example.. i can use links from youtube movies but youtube movies are uploaded in a way they are viewable for everybody, hence the embed option but those hosts will give a link to the content that has been uploaded to the part that has uploaded them only.

    at those hosts it will not be possible to make a search for other files, the faq says:

    Can I search for files other people uploaded?
    No, because not everyone wishes to share the files they upload with everyone else.

    can anybody help me here ?

    If the uploaded movie is copyrighted (99% of the time, it will be), then even if you link to it, it is still promoting copyrighted content, which is a big no-no.

    even though i did not upload any illegal content nor do i have it on my server?
    as i can see it simply viewing the content on the site i am not making a copy of the material. yes the uploader did but does this still effect me. just need to know is all i think this might be a bit of a grey area.
    so yes i do promote the material but have never hosted or uploadet it, will this be enough to bring me in trouble ?

    Its illegal, you must be able to filer copyrighted content to make sure you are safe. Even though you are not uploading, you are in trouble if you promote it.

    When you are a small website not much of a trouble but as you grow hard times will be there.
