My blog is getting lot of traffic from search engines. But CTR is very low, and therefore earnings is also less even when this blog gets good search traffic. So, I have done few changes in the ad placements. Will this new placement increase the CTR? Or whether I can do any other change to increase CTR? You can refer my blog here.
There is no magic formula my friend.... you have to try different things and see what works best. If anyone tells you they know the magic formula, they're tricking you. Each case is a case, and the best way to know what works for your websites is to experiment with different placements From looking at your website, I think you would probably get more clicks if you cleaned up the design, align the graphic elements, maybe change the background color on the left sidebar. Your website design currently looks a bit messy, meaning that visitors will feel overwhelmed and confused. You want to organize the visual elements in a way such the attention of your visitors is channeled to the ads, not scattered all around.
Yes, I confirm on firefox 4 your site is all over the place. That might attract more clicks but I'm afraid your visitors might not be staying too long a time on your current pages, do you have datas about bounce rate and average length of visits? You have to improve the site substantially before you can worry about the ad placement.
@JamesColin Thanks for your comments. Google Analytic says Bounce Rate is 80.79% and Avg. Time on site as 0:1:16
Are you telling about the Menu or the Description text? And, today I have made some changes again as my previous placement gives low CTR. Let us see how my new placement works.
As to ad placement, like many before me mentioned, you have to experiment. I would suggest 2 things: 1. align top link to the right. It will blend in better 2. try using text based ads instead of banners
I have performed different google adsense placement experiments, Please see following tips, It might help: http://techbrij.com/576/google-adsense-tips-placement-experiments
