I posted 1 comment on a blog using anchor text for a backlink. Only problem is now that the backlink shows up in Yahoo site explorer it shows 300 backlinks all to that same blog and on all different pages of that blog. Will this cause me to get a google penalty? and if so how can I take steps to prevent this from happening? my website is 2 months old if that is a factor.
It most likely will not penalize you, chances are it's nofollowed anyways. Can you post the link? If not, it's cool. I would not worry about it too much there isn't much you can do anyways but this happens for sitewide links, signature links, and some profile links so it's not an uncommon thing.
If Google would honestly penalize you for getting a few hundred backlinks in a day, then anyone could go and spam backlinks to competitors to kill their competition. Google is smarter than that.
No backlink will ever hurt you. Just don't like out to that site from your website because then Google will assume you have a relationship with them. Even then, lots of people have sitewide links (think website designers). They won't hurt you.
It won't hurt your site. Usually, Yahoo will list all the backlinks. But Google won't do.It will take only one backlink from that site.
I wouldn't say that. Google crawls as many links as Yahoo does and many more. They won't show you nearly as many for other sites too. Why do you say it would only take one link from the site?
