Say I currently have the page bluewidgetdesign.htm and I want to create the page bluewidgetwebdesign.htm. Will it hurt me to copy bluewidgetdesign and rename it to bluewidgetwebdesign.htm and change a few words around? I realize it may not be the best idea to have both be the exact same, but what if I am only looking to change 5-10 words around, will this still hurt me?
I'd play it safe and re-write the page. I'm sure that using the same keywords is fine, but google tends to penalize duplicate content... i just don't know to what extent.
Depends. Will both pages be online? Or will the newer page replace the older one? If it's the former, then you'll have a duplicate content issue. If it's the latter, you may, but you'll also have a broken link that you'll want to patch up with a 301 redirect.
Not just the structure, but the content as well. But that's just not worth it considering the other options available.
Thanks for the information guys. I think I am just going to write new content for the page. I'll keep pictures..etc the same but change the text. I guess it is the safest way to go about doing this as I don't want to take any risk of being banned. Thanks for the input!
