Toledo Police brace for possible civil unrest​

TOLEDO, OHIO -- Toledo police are gearing up for possible "Civil unrest" during and after today's elections.

In an internal memo obtained exclusively by NBC 24 News, officers are ordered to "Have their riot equipment with them Tuesday and Wednesday". Police chief Mike Navarre confirms, officers will have gear similar to the equipment they used during the 2005 race riots. "They have been asked to have their helmets and their gas masks available tomorrow and Wednesday.", Navarre says, "That's the equipment they would not normally carry with them on a normal day".

Navarre also says, officers will not be stationed at individual polling stations. But the memo says otherwise. It reads, "On Tuesday, units shall be directed to patrol the polling locations".

There are stories like this all over the place today.

I really hope there won't be any riots. Let's all peacefully accept whatever is the outcome of this election.

 

I would think the nation as a whole is more civilized than that. However, you may see small groups of undesirables trying to stir the pot. I believe overall that there will be no full fledge riots.

 

Riots? No way, maybe some cheering out of control and that's all i hope.

 

I don't know, people are dumb. (To say the least.)

 

if obama loses I can certainly see the blacks rioting in the ghettos but it won't affect anybody other than THEM since they always just wreck their own stuff.

I definately think their will be riots. No matter, who wins this election, people are already planning riots. In fact, we've already had a bomb actually go off here today, the bomb squad has evacuated a business as I type..... Sick people!

Hopefully people are more civilized than that. But at this point, nothing would surprise me.

I think it would also affect the Police/National Guardsmen that will be sent in to save them from their own stupidity.

If there is riots people who do it are very very stupid. Whoever the president is, should be accepted peacefully.
