I have a new site which doesn't have any PR yet and it already ranks on the 2nd page of Google for it's keyword. The problem is that it's stuck on that 2nd page. I already have more links than some of the sites that are on the 1st page. The only difference between my site and theirs is PR and maybe a couple of months in domain age. So should I slow down link building and wait until the PR increases/domain ages or should I continue link building and eventually I will rank on the 1st page without PR?
Continue with your link building process and you will see increase in your rankings. Suddenly you will see PR also increases with your efforts. Rankings and PR are totally different and independent. PR updates takes place once in 3 months from google side but rankings may alter one day or other, so no relation sets between PR and ranking. Go with link building and Increase you rankings. Ragards
PR has not much to do with SERP, being on second page and first page is 2 different worlds, you need to wait and keep on doing SEO to your site.
There is no relation between PR and SERP. Both are different factors so that's not true if somebody says your SERP will increase with the increment in your PR.
