Person A is a combatant working for the US military, who obtains privileged and secret information working in his role as said combatant, who then takes that information and spins it into its most negative possible light in an effort to make US soldiers look like blood thirsty killers who enjoy killing women and children.

Are you really trying to say there is some equivalence there? Last time I checked, the killing of children and non combatants was frowned on by 99% of people on the planet. If some people are going to hate us because we refuse to help annihilate the Jews, or exercise our civil rights, there is little we can do about it.
