Hello every one.. First i want thank all DP members for helping me here! My question is if i link to my home page (www.example.com) from my internal pages. www.example.com/page1.html www.example.com/page2.html www.example.com/page3.html with my targeted KeyWord in Anchor text will that hurt my ranking in SERP and cause me Banned or Penalized or any other SIDE EFFECT... Note that i've over 230 (increasing) number of pages in my site i am thinking to have all my internal pages a link to my home page?? Waiting for replies......
I make anchor links in my inner pages linking to other inner pages but never back to the homepage, unless its the home link in the top menu of course. Personally I don't see any need to link back to the homepage with main keywords, and I'm sure google will see it that way and penalize you for over optimizing... Just my thought but I guess you could try it and see what happens.
If you have a large site I would consider writing internal pages with keyword rich urls or even create categories. Internal links are beneficial like in footer links or else. But what is going to make your site rank is the link building with the anchor text pointing to your site. Of course without looking at a site I cant really tell you the best course of action.
As far as you are having 200+ pages, It will be a risk. Apart from this, If you are going to get a link to your home page from inner pages, it is more adviseable not to use your ANCHOR TEXT to which you want to get google SERP.
