secondly put google analytics code into your all website pages before the </body> tag...

have the 24 hours gone over yet? google spider take some time to check on the script. if the 24 hours are over, just check the main file and ad the code just before the </body> tag. if you have a php site ad it to the main file and that should be it.

You will see a tag at the bottom that says </body> you should install it right before that tag.

Put the code in the footer of your site before the closing body tag. It would be nice to see the template of your site though.

    What is the best?

If you have a template system, such as one page including your entire content or every page including a global configuration file etc, simply place the code in there. You do need the code on all your pages in some way or other, in order to have it work in tracking all your pages. Otherwise you would just track your homepage, which isn't always useful because people visit your website from different pages, not always visiting your homepage first.
