Hi i bought a website 1 month ago i have put all the content in myself i have no idea how to get links as i have no pr yet is there anyone willing to get me started. http://www.soccerfree.net
Hi, you have a nice site. I checked it out and can make a few suggestions to get you started , I also see you made a simple mistake for PR that you're trying to get. Error: when you register a domain name (soccerfree.net) you should register it FOR AS LONG as possible. your site domain details are here: Domain: soccerfree.net Created on: 28-Nov-07 Expires on: 28-Nov-08 You see how you only registered it for a year.. that should be 10 years or more if youre serious about your site and getting better PR rank. The longer a site is registered, the more 'credibility' it gains to many search engines. websites have an aging factor with search engines. (they trust sites that have been around and have long periods of being registered..it helps them know its not a spam site etc) To begin your links: To start getting links for your site. 1. Manually do it yourself or Pay to have it submitted to 2,000 directories (example: lazyurl.com) Paying to have that part done is worth it to some peoples because you can focus on other things. 2. Find 3 or 4 (or more) forums/ blogs related to Soccer and make posts with your URL in signature (you may have to make 100 posts before they allow you a URL signature) (tip 2 on blogs: easiest way to get people to come to your site without the forum/blog thinking youre a spammer is = Dont say = "my new site on soccer, come and see it! www.soccer (Thats Spam . will get you kicked off those forums) Do it like this = "Highlights of Game yesterday between (whoever) See Video, (or) Read More... (with your link) Try to use catchy headline or something interesting , like highlights, interview or news stories about soccer and players. Never post the full story ..always catch the reader and use "Read More..." (with your link) They will click that link to read more (Make sure you are using links on whats called "rel follow" pages. I'll explai nit lower in this post) 3. You're technically not supposed to buy or rent links - but that's your decision. (90% of the web sites are doing it for now - hard to keep up if youre just starting) Search for sites related to soccer, soccer clothes, soccer balls, soccer merchandise etc. Check their site for links that say "sponsors" or etc. Then ask them how much they charge for links on their site. (and you get relevant soccer related links) 4. Submit your links to all your state, local, town business pages, yellow pages etc. 5. Make articles (make them all unique - not the same ) and put them on google blogspot, squidoo, etc. Add a new one or as many as possible everyday /week. 6. Find funny soccer blooper videos (available on youtube probably) embed them at your site. call the section "Soccer Bloopers" or whatever you want. and soccer fans might link to it since its all organized and in one place. 7. Make a page of soccer players statistics, and rules of soccer or anything that will have people linking to it because its information thats organized and in one convenient place. (theres tons of information on Internet so you probably wont find something new to put up BUT you can organize and offer visitors a MASS of what they want in an organized and easy way - then they link to it because saves them hassle of looking it all up seperately) 8. make a myspace, and other social networking type of pages - so that it can be linked through thousands of soccer fans (might not make good links - but will become at least one source of traffic) "Rel Follow" when you make links on a page - firs tcheck to see if the links are allowed to send you PR score. there are two reasons for making links One is for getting traffic the other is for getting link score for your PR. on the website right-click mouse and click View Source (dont click on pictures or Flash when doing this) Notepad opens - go to: Edit - then: Find ...and type in exactly this : rel="nofollow" if that shows highlighted blue - that means the site is blocking PR score links basically. If it says = cannot find: re="nofollow" Then that means the site is not blocking PR score and is better for your links there. Ideas / Tips Do polls on forums = "Who is the better Soccer player: (person 1) or (person 2) .. with a link to come to your site to vote. Once people get there to a page with a poll, then say "Here are players stats for this year" to try to keep them at your site and provoke them to a next page. On that page, have the information on stats - plus the next way to provoke them to another page etc. You have to get traffic and links to your site for better Google rankings and PR score. Once your PR is higher - you can charge other soccer related web sites to advertise on your site. If you make lots of traffic AND PR links at same time .. like say if on forums you place stuff "Is it True that Soccer Fans/Players are More Intelligent Peoples Compared to Everyone else?...Read More (link) As MUCH as you can though.. make sure your links on any sites are your anchor text! If your keywords for your site are "professional soccer" , "soccer videos" , "soccer stats" or whatever.. make sure you use those in most of your links - check google for making Pro Soccer Anchor Text EDIT: PS you already have links Yahoo showing about 41 goto Yahoo and type into search box the below line: link:http://www.soccerfree.net That should keep you busy for awhile Remember me when you want to full color print your soccer brochures, flyers, etc
Thank you so much that will keep me busy for a while. PS i will definatley keep you in mind for brochures. Thanks again john
