During the World Cup, Americans were more interested in the Vuvuzela than the Soccer being played on the field. In my opinion, there was simply too much flopping and falling on the ground, faking injuries, etc. There's also the problem of low scoring.
As long as USA keep performing well in World Cup, Americans will definitely become more aware of the game.
hahahha, it's not our sport...let's stick to hockey, basketball, baseball, football (north american), and everything else we do...hahaha
Soccer is difficult to popular U.S. But If the United States attaches soccer, the U.S. team is bound to become the world's first.
Never, simply because Americans are confused between football and soccer. Think about it: American football. I don't know who invented the game but surely that guy was smoking something.
I have no idea but America is well-branded with basketball and football, not soccer. And for soccer, seems to be the long-long way to be famous. Isn't it?
I dont think soccer will ever popular in America as Basketball, America football, baseball and others.
Although the stadiums exist, the money generated will never be enough to attract the best players from around the world to play here and thus the sport will stay in mediocrity until the World Cup rolls around every 4 years. Soccer stars earn huge salaries in other countries, but here, there is too much money going to the 4 main sports and there isn't enough left over for soccer players.
I think if it becoms popular among people, it will grow. And I think that one day USA may even win the World Cup!!!
It could be. What I think of Americans is that if they want to be good at something, they will be good at something. I am saying this as a non-American.
Probably not. We just have so many sports already that are highly popular and very american that have been around forever, and are more fast paced. It varries, but generally in soccer lets face it, it's mostly long distance pass pass pass, and there isn't as much of the fast paced gameplay like in basketball, or the physical contact as in football, hockey, or boxing. Though it still eludes me as to how americans can stand baseball...
